The Division of Environment, a part of The Kansas Department of Health and Environment, is responsible for the protection and preservation of the environment in Kansas. The organizations bureau of air and radiation provides air monitoring, inventory and modeling services, as well as air quality inspection and compliance services. The Division of Environment s environment field services unit environmental technical assistance and assessment. Its water bureau consists of various livestock waste management, public water supply and watershed management sections. The Division of Environment also maintains a waste management unit that is responsible for the management and supervision of solid, hazardous and industrial wastes.
