Located in Topeka, Kan., the Older Kansans Employment program is supported by the Kansas Department of Commerce. It works to strengthen families and communities by providing disadvantaged and older Kansans opportunities to learn, work and serve others. The program is designed to provide the general public aged 55 and over with employment placement services with emphasis on employment in the private sector. The Older Kansans Employment program offers skills assessment, resume preparation, counseling, job clubs, counseling, referrals, job development services, mentoring, and job-seeking skills and classroom training services. The Kansas Department of Commerce has partnerships with the Kansas Center for Entrepreneurship, Kansas Economic Development Alliance, Kansas Small Business Development Center and Kansas Cavalry.
