I remember not too long ago Herman's provided not only great ice cream, but great service too. It seems anymore that the service is extremely lacking. Having to wait for someone to take your order, being greeted with something other than "hello," (we're out of the flavor of the week or we're out of chocolate). You really have to check your order anymore to make sure they did it right. They ask if I need a lid & I say yes, but it's handed to me with a spoon in & no lid or I ask for 2 toppings mixed in, but I find out after I get home I've only gotten one. They used to call out the numbers of orders once they were complete, now they just call out (chocolate cone or vanilla milkshake) in a room full of people waiting for their order & everyone just looks at each other trying to figure out who's it might be. They do still offer great ice cream & the flavors of the week are always good, especially "peanut butter."
