The owner of Lone Pine Game Birds is dishonest and lazy. We had a group of 8 scheduled for November 12, 2016. Group consisted of 2 teenage sons and dads, 2 brothers and 2 friends. We purchased 8 package hunts and 9 extra Chuckers for a Total of $1300 cash. This Hunt was supposed to include 56 pheasant and 9 chuckars to be released. We were required to pay up front when we arrived at noon. We began hunting at 12:45. We had shot 18 pheasant and 5 chuckars within the first 45 minutes of the hunt. We then walked until 3:30 and got 3 more pheasant and 2 chucker. The owner said his dogs were tired and the hunt was over. I expressed my displeasure with the amount of birds we had seen. The owner said that's how it goes. Anyone can buy 21 pheasant and 7 chuckers from an Aviary for around $300. . That means the owner has less than $150 invested. We saw maybe a total of 30 pheasant. Planted birds do not run away! This was described by the owner as a great hunt, right up until he got our cash. Then the excuses started. Observations: #1 owner is old, dishonest, greedy! #2 The dogs were not trained well, were old and out of shape. #3 I am certain that no more that 30 birds were released that day I don't want to see anyone else get taken advantage of by these people. Do not give them your business. Buy your own birds and release them yourself. If you cant find land, I have 60 acres you can use at no charge. As long as we seem to be of the same outlook on life. There also many reputable reserves like this in Kansas. Do your research and ask friends and family. The 2 5 star reviews have to be bogus.
