In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. Today, we continue their mission at every Black Bear Diner across the country, as we passionately provide guests an outstanding experience. Our menu offers comfort food classics, and our entire menu is offered all day long. Whether you are craving pancakes at 8 pm or pot roast at 8 am - we've got something for everyone. Enjoy your meal in our family-friendly, cabin-themed diner with our welcoming staff or order to enjoy in the comfort of your home.

I love having Sunday Breakfast here. Mark and his team are friendly, considerate , and always ensure your food is at your expectations every time. Come here with an empty stomach! So much food for such a low price!

Ordered the Pot Roast: the cream of Broccoli soup that came with it was very nicely done. The pot roast meat was melt in your mouth well seasoned pieces, the veggies were fresh, and the mashed potatoes lumpy just the way I like them.

I also got blackberry pie for dessert: delicious. I'm stuffed.

Service is inattentive bordering on being MIA. Why?

Another weird observation today: restaurant is 50% empty yet it took 10 minutes for me to be seated. Same for the couples before me and after me. They seem fully staffed to boot.
