Worst Salon Experience of My Life!!

*WARNING* If you cherish your eyebrow hair, never, never, never, get your eyebrows waxed at Aveda Vicara in Torrance. I recently decided to take advantage of a 50% off coupon I received from Vicara. Thinking that I was in desperate need of an eyebrow clean-up, I decided to utilize the coupon for this purpose.

The skincare specialist, Natalie, seemed pleasant enough as she speciously beckoned me into her waxing lair, which, in retrospect, was ominously lit, and placed in a far back crevice of the salon---where no one can hear you scream (well, that part at least is a slight exaggeration, but read on...). Given my prior experience with eyebrow waxing, I specifically told Natalie that I wanted to keep my eyebrows "thick," and the last thing I wanted was for them to be "too thin." I even recounted to her another eyebrow mishap where I ended up with "too thin" eyebrows. I can only conclude she wasn't listening to me very well, (either that or when I speak my voice is mute) or else upon looking in the mirror, I wouldn't have been staring at Cruella de Ville. She ended up butchering about half of my original eyebrow hair (I measured) and the shape is so straight and awkward, it looks like I just drew them in with a single stroke of an eyebrow pencil. Upon seeing my reaction or rather my shock, Natalie claimed that the majority of the thinness was because of her trimming my eyebrows, which apparently have a downward growth, and not due to her excessive waxing and tweezing. But, unless my eyebrow hair grows vertically (as in pointing to the center of the earth), she in reality, despite my spoken preferences and warning, completely over-waxed and over-tweezed the now dilapidated roots to my once full and lush brows. She even attempted to help remedy her error by coloring in my dismembered brows.

The only slight positive to this experience was that, seeing how upset I was, the receptionist told me that everything was free of charge. Unfortunately, this was not enough to make-up for what I lost. In my opinion, they should have paid me for what I endured, and must keep enduring for a very long time.
