In 1990, he earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo. Prior to moving to the South Bay, he worked in Santa Barbara on high-end residential and commercial projects. While working in the construction field for several years, Mr. Bakhoum obtained the knowledge of how buildings come together structurally. He gained practical experience while working with a South Bay firm in the areas of architecture, interior design, and landscape design. In 1997 he founded Obelisk Architects Currently, he is a Professor of Architecture in the L.A. Community College District and is on the Architectural and Landscape Review Committee for the community of Bel Air Crest. His work has been published in The Los Angeles Times newspaper and the Professional Practice of Architecture text.
