Founded in 1969, the South Bay Family Healthcare Center is a nonprofit, federally qualified medical care facility. It provides primary health care and preventive services to underserved individuals and families. The center offers disease diagnosis, treatment, follow-up care, laboratory, and medication and chronic illness management services. It also provides health screening, education and treatment for sexually transmitted disease; clinical care management for patients with asthma, diabetes, hypertension and congestive heart failure; and breast and cervical cancer screening, pregnancy testing and family planning services for women. Additionally, the South Bay Family Healthcare Center offers immunization, prenatal and preventive care, and individual and group counseling services for AIDS, as well as health education classes on exercises, case management and healthy lifestyle. The South Bay Family Healthcare Center is headquartered in Torrance, Calif.
