Sunrider International manufactures herbal products to the health and food industry. It owns and operates more than one million square feet of manufacturing facilities in California, Tianjin, Huang Pu, Singapore and Taiwan. Sunrider conducts business in more than 30 countries with millions of distributors and customers worldwide. Sunrider also has a presence in China with more than 6,000 retail stores. Its method, most commonly used to package herbs, is to grind up the product without cleaning them, check the bacteria count and fumigate when necessary. Sunrider uses a trade secret production process to cleanse, enhance, grind, formulate, extract, concentrate and spray dry the herbs. Its production line is more than 100 feet long, with two high-speed package machines producing 500 bars per minute. The company was founded in 1982 by Dr. Tei Fu Chen and in 1987 started its international business in Taiwan and Hong Kong.
