Provided by YP.comI called Overhead Door and scheduled an appt. because my door was not going up and down. They came out ($110) did not have the part to fix the door and had to come back.....ok....they never called to schedule an appt to return with the part and just showed up! It was not a good time for me as I was getting ready to go to work. They were going to charge another $110 for coming back....what company does that?! I called and spoke with the owner, Michael Kearns and was told that I broke the door by trying to get it to go up!!! (When I said I was not going to pay another $110, because his serviceman did not have the part with him the first time, and had to come back, Mr. Kearns said he would split the cost with me!) I am recovering from a broken neck and no way was I trying to get the door up!! The final cost well exceeded the original quote, because of the additional cost of the part that "I" broke by "me" trying to get the door to go up! Your company was exceedingly unprofessional, and Mr. Kearns was rude and arrogant..... Congratulations you've lost ANOTHER customer!

Provided by YP.comA broken spring on my old garage door opener led to a part of the unit breaking. I called to have the old part replaced.
When I called to set up the appointment, I was told that I would be called the morning of the appointment to be told a more specific arrival time. You never called me-I had to call you. When I did call, the person had to estimate that the repair technicians would be there sometime in the afternoon. Your company needs to be more responsive to the needs of the customer.
During this initial visit, I was informed that the part that was broken would take weeks to come in. The broken spring would need to be replaced with the other one, and that would cost $78 for parts and $119 an hour for labor. They advised me to replace the whole garage door opener because the labor to replace the springs ($119) would be included in the installation of the electric door opener. That convinced me to have the whole unit replaced. I currently feel like a sucker and a fool because you charged the additional $119 labor for the installation of the springs. Your service technicians deceived me, which I find to be very unethical, if not illegal.
Lastly, I was further annoyed that there were staples strewn about the garage floor. If someone was paying me $119 an hour, I’d PICK UP THE STAPLES. I’ve done volunteer work in Appalachia for free, and I picked up after myself!!!
Congratulations, you’ve lost a customer!
