The entire beautiful vacationland is somewhat eerie! The locals who seem to control the government give it the aura of "Hazard County meets Deliverance".Think we will vacation at a different Lake next year

Strange place to do business in....

One Political Party....CAVE Party controlled by Three (3) ruling clans or families. Six (6)elected political positions controlled by the 3 ruling clans. Each elected political position holds multiple jobs within the township structure. The Supervising 6 appoint followers to control taxation, zoning, liquor licensing, and business licenses.The controlling families hire for the voluntary fire department with out credentials and certification for fire fighters and first responder/EMT.Basically 3 clans supported by 180 followers control the destiny of over 1650 habitable dwellings in vacation country.They recently Trumped the County and State DNR by approving a massive boat house. WOW!
