Takes forever to get an appointment. If you forget your appointment or your more than 10 minutes late they wont see you and you get charged $33. But you can show up early and they still wont call you in untill 30 minutes past your appointment time. They also take anywhere from 2 to 3 hours to finish a simple appointment. All the while, their staff is just hanging around doing nothing. So frusterating

Last visit I felt I was in a ...

Last visit I felt I was in a time share seminar. I'm in the dental office for just pero-maintenance, the hygenist pressured me to get some procedure called arrestin injection for my gums that I needed in 9 locations. I decline the procedure, beacause my insurance did not cover it, and it was going to cost me about $500 dollars. When I told her that I declined the procedure, she went back to the office and told the manager that I did not accept the treatment. The manager came to me and told me, because I did not accept the treatment I was no longer welcome here and I needed to change my dental office. I was shocked!!

I had no trouble declining treatments before when they were Smile Care, but when they change to Coast Dental, this place change. I feel that this office has gone to corporate and feel that they are more interested in profit, than the well being of the patients needs.

The last hygenist working here was very nice, and I missed her, but this new hygenist I feel is in line with the new corporate rules try to get more money from patients. I decided to take the managers advice and look for a new dental office.

I would give this dental offic...

I would give this dental office less than one star if that was possible. I urge all to find a different dentist to take your business to. The service performed was adaquate but it's the ethics in this business that should turn you off from them. Twice now, they have performed miscellaneous services on me which they promised was covered by my insurance company even after I told them it most likely wasn't. They printed out "proof" that the services were covered. Months and even a year after each visit, I would get a bill in the mail for a substancial amount. When I called them, they told me they did work which was not covered by my insurance company. I assumed the fault was mine the first time (that I wasn't clear in specifing I did not want anything extra my insurance covered). The second time this happed, I knew there was no way I was not clear. I told the hygenist and the dentist numerous times during the visit I did not want any extra's done during my service. I told them I wanted a copy of the printouts they have showing me I would not be charged for this extra stuff at a later date. When I called to question their billing a second time, I told them I still have the paperwork from the "proof" they provided me that the work was covered. They said my insurance must have changed. That was bold lie since my policy is set for each calendar year. This place is shady. They will cheat you if you go here. Beware!

I would not recommend this den...

I would not recommend this dental office to anyone!!!!!! I went to this office for my check up and the dentist complained that I was moving too much while she was checking the pockets of my teeth. I informed her that I have never felt any pain while undergoing this type of procedure and that she was the first to actually make me flinch. I then went on to inform her that if she was to look thru my records, the only time I have ever had anesthesia was to have my wisdom teeth taken out and to have my crowns installed. Other than that, I have always withstood the pain as I do not like any form of anesthesia. I had quadrant planing on all 4 quadrants a couple of months ago, when it was still Smile Care, and I did not require any anesthesia. This dentist then suggested that she stop the procedure right then as I was expressing difficulty. After I told her to finish counting the remaining 3 teeth's pockets, she completed it, took off her latex gloves and threw them onto the tray. She then got up and left the room. I denied all products that they attempted to sell me. My daughter recently went in for her 6 mos check up and her teeth cleaning. She came out of the office with a bill for over $600. I understand that my daughter is 21 yrs old but she is naive when it comes to what needs to be done to her teeth as she completely trusts what the dentist tells her since they are the professional in the matter. She had quadrant planing done for her teeth that had counts of 4s and 5s as they advised her that she NEEDED to have it done THAT day. She informed them that she needed to talk to me first and that she could not afford to pay them anything on that day. They conveniently set her up with a credit card with a 26.9% interest rate and INSISTED she needed to be treated that day. Since they were the professionals, she felt she needed to do it or her teeth would be in jeopardy. They plied her with an electric toothbrush, a fluoride rinse, and an MI paste which is to strengthen your teeth's enamel. Mind you, my daughter hasn't had cavities in over 2 years. I have called to complain that they are in the business of coercion and making money NOT looking out for the patient's welfare, healthwise or financially. They took advantage of my daughter's gullibility and did not consider her statement that she needed to confer with me prior to having any work done. I have switched to a new dentist today and have filed a Consumer Complaint Form with the Dental Board of California. This dentist's office is so corrupt as to prey on unknowing individuals. When it was Smile Care, the pockets of my teeth ranged from 4-5s with 2or 3 3s. When the new dentist took over, my pockets became 1s 2s and 3s. This was 3 mos after my first treatment with SmileCare. Impossible that my teeth have gotten that bad within 3 mos.

horrible

My daughter, 11 went for a cleaning and Ortho consult. I took off early from work and took her out of school. After waiting in a room for an hour for the $60 cleaning, the hygienist walked in, said her gums were swollen, refused the general cleaning and came back with a bill for $266 to debride her gum lines. The dentist and orthodontist both looked in her mouth, at the x rays and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Then after another 1 hour, we were walked into a managers office to get paperworl for the braces. After wasting 2 1/2 hours of my and my daughter's time, we left with only paying for the xrays. I would never go back there again. Waste of time and money.

Very poor customer service

All staff at the offices I've talked to - San Ramon, Hayward, Concord, and Tracy - are extremely rude, and the people at the corporate office will give you different answers.
