I called Greenville Appliance Repair on November 29th to inquire about having someone to come out and inspect my washing machine. I asked how much the cost would be for coming out to look at it, and I was told it would be $49. On November 30th, Blake came over and took the washing machine outside in order to inspect it. 15-20 minutes later, Blake came back in saying that he fixed the issue and that it was a very simple fix. He proceeded to write the invoice, and I noticed that in addition to the $49 service charge, he also included an $88 charge, bringing my total to almost $150! I asked about this fee was told that anytime they do any kind of work whatsoever, they charge a minimum of $88. He never took the time to explain to me what the issue was and the cost associated with fixing the issue prior to fixing the issue.

I called back on 12/03 to complain because I felt like I was taken advantage of because I was a female in the home alone. I spoke directly to Blake and he told me that he just assumed that I would have wanted him to fix it because it was such an easy fix. I explained to him how deceptive it is to fix an item for a customer without explaining what the issue is and telling them how much it cost to fix it, and by doing that, he made the decision for me of whether or not I wanted to spend that much money to have my machine fixed. He then offered to refund half of the $88, which would have been $44, and I accepted that offer. I was told on 12/3 that I would be receiving the refund check in the mail within a few days. On that following Wednesday 12/07, not only had I still not received the refund, but I attempted to wash a load of clothes and noticed that the washer got stuck on the spin cycle, which is what Blake had supposedly fixed when he came out the first time. I called back and not only did he refuse to come out to fix what he was already paid to fix, but as of 1/13, I still have yet to receive the refund check of the $44 that I was promised.

We called and got quoted $49 to diagnose our fridge. I confirmed price & set an appointment. The next day he came out. My husband told him everything about it. Blake didn't know what the issue was & kept going to his car. My husband basically did all the work for him. On his invoice there was the $49 charge & $88 one totaling $145.22 with tax. He stated that the $88 charge would cover next time & he's going to order a part that he thinks will work. We called 5/9/16, 5/12/16 and 5/13/16. Eventually he answered & said our part wasn't available and he’s trying to get one. Meanwhile we couldn't get filtered water from our fridge. On 5/24/16, we called again. 5/29/16 he answered & said they sent him the wrong part. We told him that we already paid for the next service call and Blake said that wasn’t true. He stated that the $88 was his hourly fee for “working” on our refrigerator and the $49 was the fee to come out and diagnose it. He refused to refund us and was getting rude and arrogant.

I called Foothills Appliance Repair to repair an appliance for me. I was concerned about promptness because I had called on a Friday evening. He did come out and check the appliance and made the repair as promised. The cost for service and repair was much cheaper than replacing the appliance. I will recommend this company to others who may be in need of having an appliance repaired.

He acted like he was giving me a discount because I am a veteran but he came and worked on the brackets on my dishwasher they broke again in 6 days and he would not answer my calls or messages. Took my money and didn't give a second thought about the poor service he provided. Ripping off veterans. Beware!

I have been very patient with this company, but it is gone. Does not answer texts, doesn't show up, and doesn't notify you that he is not coming. Has put me in a real mess, because of the amount of laundry I do. Stayed at home two days waiting, but no more. Will find someone reliable!

My wife called Foothills Appliance Repair (864) 360-2408 to figure out what was wrong with a second hand stove that wasn't working. The day before while installing the stove into the kitchen we noticed the plug wasn't the same type that matched the wall outlet. So we ran to Home Depot and picked up the correct plug, I installed the new plug very easy 4 screws onto the back of the stove. We plugged the stove in, didn't work. We found out what was the problem after $162.31 later the 4 screws weren't tighten enough. REALLY $162 to tighten 4 smiple screws Foothills is A PIECE OF WORK---- FOOTHILLS APPLIANCE REPAIR WILL NEVER GET MY BUSINESS AGAIN !!!!!!!

I called Foothills Appliance Repair to fix an ice maker in my Whirlpool refrigerator. Repair tech scheduled and came out immediately. He said water valves would have to be replaced and gave me the total cost (approx $360). I explained at the beginning I needed him to be honest about whether it was more economical to repair or replace the fridge. He told me the above price is what it would cost. He did replace the valves, but it didn't fix the issue. When confronted about that he wanted me to trouble shoot and said he "did what [he] said [he] would do." I pointed out that I had hired him to fix the ice make which he HAD NOT DONE. I will never use this company again and would recommend against anyone else doing so. I have spent a lot of money to not have the problem I called for fixed.

I called Foothills Appliance Repair to fix a Samsung dryer at my home on Lake Hartwell that was displaying a thermistor fault code. Service was arranged promptly and the technician arrived and replaced the thermistor with a new $5-10 one I had already purchased. The total charge (labor and service call only) was approximately $160 for a repair that took less than 15 minutes. No complaints at this point as I'm located in an outlying area and was happy to get the repair done quickly and be back in action. Then, on the very first load, the dryer stopped working and displayed the very same reading. I called back twice over the next 7-10 days and spoke with Blake both times. On each occasion, I provided make/model information and my personal info and was promised a call back once he could locate my records and confirm the fault code for that model. Another week or two pass and no call back. Since then, I have made several attempts to reach them but all calls seemed to be screened. To test this theory, I had a relative call from a different number. The call was answered and, yet again, a follow-up was promised once my records could be located. To be clear, I was never under the impression that my service would be covered under warranty since I supplied the part. Likewise, I never requested a free follow-up visit. However, it has become abundantly clear they have no interest in resolving the issue. Not sure if this is typical of this company as they seem like nice folks. Perhaps they're very busy and understaffed. In either case, it has been very disappointing that I can't even get someone to return a call to discuss the issue after paying $150+ for a few minutes of work and some mileage. I would certainly think twice before doing business with them again but would welcome the opportunity to be proven wrong.
