Provided by YP.comI just recently bought two guns from Hampels and I was delighted with the service at the store. I really don't agree with the bad reviews given by Andrew O. And Tom M. If you are so shocked by gun transfer fees (which are normal) then don't buy cheap guns online! Do your community a favor and buy local. Hampels is all about the family owned gun store feel I love it. Also, Tom M. You said Gander Mountain doesn't charge transfer fees... First, Hampels isn't a chain store and probably can't compete with them. Second, Gander Mountain is going out of business and, so maybe they should have been charging transfer fees.
Transfers asides.. I was really pleased with the gun selection at Hampels. Thanks guys!

Provided by YP.comVery good customer service! I just recently purchased a pistol and had a great experience. I purchased my gun from Tony and he was very helpful and knew everything about the guns I was interested in. And the owner, Rod is just an all around great guy! Definitely will continue to do business with them in the future.

Provided by YP.comThis is an official reply to the Andrew O. review of March 27th, 2017:
Dear Mr. Joel N. W.,
I am the owner of Hampel's Gun Co. and my number one goal is the satisfaction of our customers.
Firearms transfers is one of the many services Hampel's Gun Co. provides, besides the commerce of firearms and ammunitions, and we clearly and openly advertise the costs of this and other services, so the transfer fee should not have been a surprise to you.
As for the taxes, we must follow opinion and guidance from Michigan's Attorney General that as a firearms dealer we are the actual seller of such firearms to the end customer and therefore mandated to collect either sales or use tax on the sum of the price of goods, freight and the actual transfer fee. This is a legal obligation.
Unhappily we did not have the opportunity to meet when you came to our store on March 23rd, but I was at the store and helped our salesperson complete the transaction, and it did not take nearly as long as time that you mentioned.
Regards,
Rodrigo Meirelles

Provided by YP.comI've purchased several firearms and have had a few transferred in as well. Always excellent service. I was also aware of the fact ahead of time on what transfer fees were and how Michigan collects tax on firearms purchased out of state, so no issues there. They've got one of the largest selections of used firearms I've ever seen. They will continue to get my business as long as their doors are open.
