bad experience

I gave this two stars because the doctors are good. The reception staff is what I have the issue with. There are quite a few people that work behind the desk so I don't give them credit for just having a heavy workload. They have screwed up my appointments a couple of times and always want to make me feel like it was my fault, lecturing me about calling in to cancel if I can't make it when they scheduled me for the wrong time, the wrong day or for the wrong child (I have two boys).

Once, I had called to reschedule an appointment for my oldest. They cancelled the standing appointment I had and I guess they didn't put the new appointment in the computer. When I brought in my child, they told me I didn't have an appointment and I had to argue with them to get my child seen by the doctor. A couple of months later I called to make an appointment for my younger son and they told me I had missed an appointment for him a couple months ago. It occurred to me that the appointment they failed to put into the computer for my older son was probably put in incorrectly and scheduled for my younger son. I think it happened because the reception staff is terrible at listening, they're constantly putting you on hold if you call and that's if you can even get ahold of a live person.

I have called in the morning when they are supposedly open and the phone goes straight to the receptionists voice mail for a couple of hours. The voice mail asks you to leave a BRIEF message (they emphasize the word like they don't have time to listen to much you would have to say) and they will call you back. Well forget it if your child is sick and you want to get him/her in that day. They won't call you back for a few hours. Of course, they tell you to go to the emergency room if it's a pressing situation. I would like to know if the office plans on picking up the bill for a venture like that.

And Voice mail for the receptionist? They have so many people working behind the desk that they can't organize and communicate properly enough to keep things straight yet there's no one designated to answer the phone to make appointments? Or maybe they just think it's more important to chat with each other over coffee and don't feel like answering until after noon.
