Provided by YP.comAs somebody mentioned - the school is dysfunctional. Thanks to the director who is a control freak and runs the place as her own private property. Most of the lead teachers are equally dysfunctional. The focus is on parent education rather than focusing on kids. If you enroll your child here be prepared to be overtly being criticized - no stone will be left unturned by the so called 'teacher' to help you realize that your 4 year old is a manipulative person. On top of that God help you if are a person of foreign origin - does not matter if you were born in this country - the director lady will jump up and down to help you understand amazing 'American' values she picked up when she moved to US. Err... no thank you! It is a tensed unhappy atmosphere all around. Bottom line - if you like to torture yourself and instill the 'value' of low self-esteem in your child, feel free to enroll your kid here.

Provided by YP.comThis school is so dysfunctional. It's run by a tyrannical director with the sole interest of money at heart. We've experienced some good teachers, but a great deal of them have already left. Staff changes happen way too frequently & without explanation or warning (think middle of the year). They are discontinuing the upper elementary program because of poor enrollment. It appears parents are tired of paying extra money for math tutors to pick up the slack where the curriculum lacks, on top of the already expensive tuition here. Do not recommend.

Provided by YP.comI'm absolutely disappointed in Schoolhouse Montessori. I am concerned that they do not watch the children closely on the playground or inside. The first day of school, my son came home with a carpet rash on his face. (I understand, he's clumbsy like me.) On the fourth day, my son was able to climb the playground fence into the parking lot where a parent just so happened to find him before he could wander out or get hit by a car. I shudder to think what could have happened. As soon as I found out, I rushed to pick him up and asked that the Director call me the following day. When the director called me, I was appalled by her reaction to the situation. She said that she felt her school was safe and that my child had trouble following directions. My son is 3 years old! She had no intentions of making any changes to the playground or addressing the issue with her staff. He escaped the playground and NOBODY noticed! If he could sneak out, someone could sneak in.
The facilities look nice, but don't let that fool you too!
