I happen to live in Troy, and since sushi is my favorite food I am very lucky to have such great place in my home town. I eat here at least three times a week and it is delicious and moderately priced. Especially if you go for lunch. I love the sushi, however all the food is exellent and the service is friendly!

If you like sushi, you'll love Sakai. The food is amazing, and the staff is friendly and helpful.

We thought this Sakai was the same as the ones in the Dayton area, but as soon as we stepped inside we realized this Sakai was something definitely a step above the others. Everything about this restraunt is extremely clean and modern. What really impressed us the most though was the staff. I think everyone who worked there said hi to us at least once and genuinely seemed happy to work there. Our waiter John was the best waiter we have ever had while eating out, he was familiar with the menu and even though he was extremely busy he was always there when we needed something. As we found out the hard way you should call and make a reservation if you want the hibachi, but the more traditional Japanese menu is an excellent alternative. I would say the average dinner here is around the $15 range and for the amount of food we got and the incredible presentation it would be really hard to top Sakai Japanese Bistro.
