The Town of Truckee's Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance of approximately 145 miles of streets and roadways. The departments Road Division has over 60 vehicles in stock. The Public Works Department also provides drainage maintenance, street sweeping, striping of public parking stalls and crosswalks, stenciling of streets and sign maintenance. The maintenance includes culvert cleaning, brushing of roadside shrubs/trees and reestablishing drainage ditches. The Town of Truckee is approximately 33 square miles in area, with the highest elevation at 7,500 feet.
