Provided by YP.comBurns Development & Realty has been our property manager for many years. During that time, we have been fortunate to have mostly good renters who respected the property and left it in good shape. Unfortunately, we have also had a few renters who have skipped out on several months of rent payments, had unauthorized pets such as pit bulls, and done so much damage that a one year old carpet had to be replaced throughout the house. Burns Development & Realty has dealt with all of these renters both good and bad in a professional manner.

Provided by YP.comI had a great experience with Burns during my 3 year association with the company. Viewing of the property was accommodated to my schedule regardless of the week end, the property looked immaculate and ready to move in. During the times when repairs were needed, I could always reach one of the employees or, the owner himself who was instrumental at figuring out the “emergency” stuff is taken care of.
As a professional adult, I truly value the professional way of doing business, and I feel that Burns is one of the select companies with honesty and integrity.

Provided by YP.comThroughout my experience of renting, I'm lucky to say that I've had pretty positive relationships with 4 out of 5 landlords/rental companies. The 1 negative experience that I've had was with burns. Two weeks after our move-out, I received our security deposit (minus $350) plus a summarized list of charges. Now, we did have a dog in the house, so I am not surprised that there was some dog fur left behind; but we cleaned that house inside and out - we put more effort into tidying it up at move out than we've ever done with any of our other rentals... Which I might add, that we've always received our security deposits back in full. Our charges ranged from professional carpet cleaning for a bill of $160 (I asked to see a receipt and two weeks later I have yet to see one), dusting, cleaning grout, etc. My issue is that in my opinion, most of these charges consisted of routine tasks that any landlord/rental company should perform before a new tenant moves in. Yet, I was charged for them all. All of the charges also ironically added up to $350, which was what our pet security deposit was... Even though over half of the charges weren't pet related. If you ask me, I believe they had planned on keeping this portion of our deposit from the get-go. Also, they tried to charge me for damages that existed when we first moved into the unit. It wasn't until after we put up a fight that they looked back at previous pictures/move-in notes and found that were right. Had we not been smart enough to notice that, they would have unfairly charged us (probably over $100 too). You'll notice in other reviews that this has happened to others as well. Another big issue that I have relates to one afternoon where the owner of the company wanted to show our unit to a couple that was interested in renting it. I agreed to meet Mr. Burns and when I did, I went to my door to open it and I noticed that the dead bolt was locked. This was interesting since we never locked the dead bolt. I can only assume that Mr. Burns opened the door to look in to make sure that the house was in viewing condition. I obviously don't appreciate his unauthorized entrance into my home, especially since my dog was in the home alone and could have escaped. If he wanted to to view the house before showing it, he could have asked me to meet him earlier to take a look. I have never had a landlord/rental company try to squeeze every penny out of me that they can. If you look online, including these other few reviews, you won't find anything positive - and apparently they don't care. In summary, Burns is a totally understaffed, mismanaged company that has a "we're too busy for you" attitude. They will try to scam you out of money at every opportunity because they are clearly having financial problems. If they can't manage their own company, how can they manage rental properties?

Provided by YP.comThis company is the greatest. I have rented from them for the last two years and have never had a problem with them. Any problems with the home we rented we just called up and someone was there to fix it within a couple days. Once we even had a clogged pipe on a major holiday (don't remember if it was Thanksgiving or Christmas) but they had a professional plumber out within a half an hour and everything was fixed so we could enjoy our dinner. We had been looking for a place to buy for approximately nine months and hadn't found anything. We were told that it would take 3-4 months to close on a property once we found something so we really started to look seriously approximately 5 months before the end of our lease. Found a great place we fell in love with and it closed in 30 days. Burns allowed us out of our lease and had our old place rented 2 and a half months prior to the end of our lease. Our pets damaged the carpet and we were very concerned with this, especially since the carpet was older when we moved in. Burns was very fair with the charges that they charged us and had our deposit to us within 2 days of them renting the old house. I would highly recommend this company to anyone. Staff is friendly, fair, and honest. You don't find that too often in today's world. Thank you Burns, Ann and Staff for making my last two years worry free.
