Since 1922, Flowing Wells Irrigation District has been a municipal water provider for Arizona. It serves drinking water on the north side of metropolitan Tucson. The district features more than 3,500 service connections serving the domestic/fire protection utility of more than 16,000 people and numerous businesses. Located in Tucson, Ariz., Flowing Wells Irrigation District is also involved in sewage disposal and recycling. It is a recipient of the 2006 Aquarius Award for innovative use of state revolving funds for sustainable health protection.
