I've been going to Macayo's since living in Phoenix back in the 70's. This Macayo's on the east side is really friendly, beautifully decorated and have wonderful servers! I love the food at Macayo's and my favorite item there is the Baja Pizza! You must try it! It is a unique 'cheese crisp' with their omg to die for baja sauce, small pieces of grilled chicken, tomatoes, cheese, and other yummy stuff. In fact, I like their Baja sauce so much that I will order a side of it and dip everything in it! Macayo's has the best shredded beef tacos in town. So many of the 'authentic' Mexican restaurants put their meat in a previously made taco shell. That's unacceptable to me. Macayo's frys each one to order and puts gobs of meat, lettuce, and cheese in it. I love Macayo's and go there at least once a month.
