Major Regret!

***Please read this completely! I know it's long, but it will be worth your while and it might save you from making a huge mistake on living arrangments!!***

This complex has the most terrible service! I hope they have a new complex manager since the one who was there when I moved out was incompetent. When my boyfriend and I moved in, we were really excited. The management was nice and the apartment was decent. About half way through our lease, a new manager was hired. I think her name was Anna. Either way, everything went downhill from there. The complex was not maintained very well, the staff was no longer friendly. It seemed the neighbors were getting to be more and more unfriendly. But I could live with that since I didn't see the whole complex enough to care about its maintenance and I didn't need to encounter the staff or neighbors a lot. It was the problems with my apartment that drove me insane. About early July, we noticed our air conditioning unit was leaking water. Obviously, we filed a work order. It took them TWO days to finally come out to work on it. The water stopped leaking, everything was good. Two days later, we notice it's leaking AGAIN! So we put in the work order again. The guy comes the next day and looks at it again. He tells us that he fixed the wrong thing- that he fixed something that didn't need fixing. Well, he actually FIXED it this time and then left the panel that covers the unit itself off the ceiling. And we continually asked them when they would put it back up. And they kept saying, we''ll do it tomorrow. Yet after a month, it was still an open space. Needless to say, our electric bill went up since the air conditioner was trying to cool an apartment that had a hole for all the cool air to escape. And then the unit started leaking again. To which point, we were infuriated. We confronted the manager and told her that this was unacceptable. That they better fix it and put the panel back up in the next twenty hours or we would leave. And that if we ended up leaving, they better not try to claim money from us. Our agreement was for a maintained apartment. Obviously, if they aren't maintaining it, then we shouldn't be paying for it. So after being threatened, she gets the guy out there and the work is done. Needless to say, we didnt stay. But the problems didn't end there. Apparently, there was something which could not be repaired with deposits alone and more money was needed. But instead of giving me the opportunity to refute the claim or to pay the amount they wanted, they filed my balance with a collection agency. Honestly though, after dealing with that staff for a year, I can say I should not have expected much more than that. What I wanted to know is why a year and a half later, I am just finding out about the debt with their company? I believe the proper procedure to filing such a claim would be to contact the former resident and inform them of the dilemma. I have not lived there in over a year- that is at least a year in which that sum of $140 has remained unpaid, reflecting badly on my credit score.

Anyways, I know this was lengthy, but I hope it helps you realize that this is NOT where you want to live. You deserve more for you money. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. The new place I moved to (Campbell Ranch) has much better accommodations and service. And help your friends and relatives out too, make sure they know what they are getting into, before they sign that lease.
