Dr. Peart received her bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia and graduated from Marshall’s Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. She completed her residency program in Internal Medicine through the Tucson Hospitals Medical Education Program. After returning to Marshall University to complete her Cardiology Fellowship, she returned to Tucson to begin practice as the first female cardiologist in Southern Arizona. As an Interventional Cardiologist, Dr. Peart is trained and credentialed to perform many complex procedures in the hospital environment. Her areas of special interest include women’s heart health and clinical research. Dr. Peart has been the principal investigator or sub-investigator on more than 60 clinical research trials, including multi-center studies of cardiac pharmaceuticals and cardiac devices. She regards research studies and their outcomes as vital to staying abreast in a world of rapid medical advances. She has served as the Chief of Staff at Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital and director of the hospital’s Cardiac Rehabilitation program. Dr. Peart is board certified in Internal Medicine as well as Cardiovascular Disease. She is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, Pima County Medical Society, and the Academy of Clinical Research Professionals.
