Provided by YP.comThe reviews I saw like the one below and I took a chance on this motel. It was not at all like what I read.Sheets and blankets were dirty with hair and bugs. Carpet was grimy. Furniture and bed were placed in the room so that there was less than a foot space to get to the restroom.

Provided by YP.comI was looking for a clean cheap motel when I entered Tucumcari. I found myself exploring the options in the downtown historic Route 66. Just on luck alone I took notice to the Americana Motel located at 406 E Route 66 Boulevard. What I saw was a nostalgic neon sighn advertising rooms for $27.95 per night for a single. I pulled in expecting to be disappointed and what I found was... I could have paid more somewhere else for a lot less. I walked into the office and felt a sense of history. The first person I met was the owners wife who greeted me with a smile. I asked for a single room with a monthly rate. This is where I met Sam the owner of the motel. We came to a price I could afford and the hand shake transpired. On the way to my room, I couldn't help but notice how clean the entire parking lot I was still skeptical as I turned the key to my room with hesitation. As the door opened I found a very clean and dust free room. A large flat screen TV capable of receiving over 100 supreme channels, A walk in closet, A love seat that was in very good condition, A microwave, A refridgerator, A nearly new air conditioner, A walk in closet,, If you open the second door I found a dinning table. A full range, and a full size refridgorator. My next plight was the bathroom. The shower is second to none. Large enough for three people. The walls are thick and in good repair eliminating all the outside noise you might hear in other expensive motels. The offer a daily continental breakfast with plenty of coffee on hand. Only being here three days, I had my door cracked and the owner from across the parking called me by name and said good morning. Wi-Fi is available and to my surprise the have a laundry mat for the guests for $1.75 per load. When you rent a room here...You become family. Again something I haven't seen much in the larger motels at twice the cost. If you really want to experience the history of the famous highway of our nation... This motel will set the ambiance you are looking for. The location is to mention also.... with-in a couple of blocks is a Lowes supermarket, A Circle K, and four blocks from here is the museum. You will want to walk this to get the full impact of the cowboy days. Should I ever return to Tucumcari..... You will find me at the Americana motel. I rank this a 5 star. Tom Meadows.
