Woke up covered in welts from bedbugs, had to go to hospital from allergic reaction to bites. Caught three adult bed bugs from my pillow. I even made a YouTube video as proof if you want to see it. Before reporting them to the health department and seeking damages via a civil suit- I thought I'd share via Google. The owner of the place denied that they were from history hotel, but I saw these nasty creatures for the first time in my life crawling up the walls of this place, and on and under my pillows. AVOID AT ALL POSSIBLE COSTS!!

I had checked into the Gateway Inn on 3/1/12 and was supposed to checkout on 3/3/12. However the rooms were not cleaned due to a lot of non-vacancy. The second day I was there, on 3/2/12, I was bitten by a Black Widow spider while I was sleeping on the bed in my Gateway Inn hotel room, Room 112. I was bitten on my left hand, which swelled up with a set of puncture wounds. The venomous bite rendered me unconscious and paralyzed. Needless to say that I did not check out on 3/3/12. The hotel manager, Subhash, tried to contact me by knocking on my door. When I did not answer, he called the Tucumcari police. The Sergeant found me lying on my bed and my skin was "cold to the touch". He said that my body temperature was less than 80 degrees. Sergeant Schaeffer immediately brought me into his police ambulance and rushed me to the Presbyterian hospital. Unfortunately the hospital did not have the equipment to save my life, so I had to be brought by helicopter over 138 miles to a bigger and better hospital in Amarillo Texas, the Northwest Texas Healthcare System. This is where I woke up on 3/3/12 in the ICU wing after being unconscious for almost 24 hours. I was given tests for weeks and treated back to health. I also needed physical therapy. Now I have over $120,000 in medical bills. It's been 4 months since my stay there and I am still not fully healed. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone who values their life.
