Where Tulare gets a little dustier during the summer months, you’ll find the Budget Inn off CA Hwy 99, exit 85. It’s next to a small Truck Stop at the end of town where the industrial section begins. From here, a traveler can go North on Blackstone St. into Tulare, or North on Mooney Blvd into Visalia. Both towns are a short distance to shopping and eateries depending on whether you turn left or right when leaving the Hotel’s driveway. This is clean place judging by the minimal blackness on my bare feet after milling around the room despite a few carpet stains from some abusive or careless past patrons. The bathroom and other areas are immaculate as well. I recall the shower pressure being good considering our State’s water crisis. The Hotel makes do with what they have as far as furnishings and the older Tube-type TV. There is a lot of square footage that a long-term visitor can take advantage of as well. Frig and Food Nuker are also provided. I take off points for the Wi-Fi which I feel should be better considering the reason I was given. That is, I was told the number of users on the network can slow it down. This makes perfect sense depending on the service. However, this day, there was only about three other visitors. To summarize: The Budget Inn is aptly named. It’s a very good price for the space provided, the cleanliness, and furnishings provided. I’ll go here again but more and likely, use my own Net10 Mobile Hotspot @ $50 per 5GB of Data.
