Dr. Mehdi is an intelligent individual but when I first encountered him after leaving Dr. Edinger's practice, I was given a specific set of policies regarding pain management. I suffer from chronic pain as a result of repetitive motion injuries and numerous surgeries including total cervical spine fusion. After determining that I had participated in alternative methods to reduce the necessity of a previous treatment which had included 120mg. of oxycodone a day and antidepressants, he changed his policies regarding my treatment. After suffering from extreme stress of a very damaging house fire and subsequent pain, he refused to show any compassion to my situation and left me to fend for myself. I will be seeking another physician that understands my situation, my desire of not using opioids on an daily basis, but when needed to reduce a constant progression of visits to the emergency room for treatment of chronic pain. I will continue to seek physicians that understand my situations, that understand my previous experiences and knowledge that I have obtained after a lifetime of dealing with my health issues and the insight I have obtained regarding those issues. I strongly recommend that those of you who are dealing with a physician that is not compassionate and proactive with your issues for a positive resolution to those issues, do not hesitate to seek one who is. AS we all are aware, doctors have been taught to address and deal with medical issues but not with people. I have encountered this issue far to many times and at the age of 59 I am determined to HIRE a doctor that will work with me, not against me.
