I was given a membersip by an accounting client as a gift. We do not purchase product in large quantities, so we really don't need to go to Sam's Club for our normal shopping. However, we used the membership to stock-up on cleaning supplies and some other household items. The problem -- on checking out on 9/22/09 we were charged twice for "Soft Scrub" at $9.28, when in fact we only had one three pack in our cart. On a $163.81 purchase, we were overcharge $9.28 plus tax or about $10.00. Of course I didn't notice the overcharge until the next day. The benefit Sam's Club shopping was gone with one OVER CHARGE. After you leave the store you have no recourse. I doubt I'll be renewing my membership.
