The Public Works Department maintains street maintenance, drainage maintenance, vehicle maintenance, brush and street cleanup, and grounds and mosquito control divisions. It works with a team of more than 70 staff members. The department has a property maintenance division that is responsible for marinating and administering janitorial services. The Public Works Department s traffic control division works to maintain, install and repair traffic signs, stop bars, railroad markings and downtown parking space lines. It is also responsible for maintaining equipment and vehicles. The department also administers several thoroughfare programs. The Public Works Department is governed by city of Tupelo in Alabama.
