Our son, his wife and our grand daughter trailered our 18' run-about to the Tupper Lake state boat launch on Rt. 3 with our '02 Chevy Express van. With the trailer at the top of the ramp, he shut off the motor and removed the safety straps to launch the boat. Then the van's motor wouldn't turn over, even though there was plenty of battery left. He called me--I was in Wilmington about 40 miles away. I looked up auto repair on line and my first (and only) call was to Counter's Garage. Mr. Counter, although they were quite busy, told me he'd help us out. He dropped what he was doing, went to the boat launch, determined it was the starter, towed the van and my son's family to his garage, ordered a starter in another town, did the repair, and my son was out boating on Tupper Lake, all within a little over two hours! My son related to me that they thought it was Mrs. Counter that drove halfway to the other town to pick up the new starter from the auto parts driver. Mr. Counter's bill was significantly less than what we would have paid down here near Baltimore, MD. We were all very happy with the outcome. Thank you all at Counter's Garage.
