Worst experience ever! No answer to our call at 2:00 pm for a reservation so we made one through Open Table. The Bistro is nearly empty when we arrived at 5:30 and we could only be seated at a high bar table with a seat I am too short to be comfortable in eating. We couldn't have a table because we didn't request it in notes nor did we reach them directly. We left with our $150 gift card unused. Snotty attitude by the person seating us didn't help. No apology just attitude.

My husband and I eat here very often , we even have had business meetings.



I would though advise people that this is not a fast food place and unless you tell your server you need to get back to work in an hour you may find yourself stressed trying to get back on time!!! This is a place of relaxation and romantic setting (especaily in the back room its more quite!)



This is a place I would suggest over any other resturant in turlock we have live here 25 years and when we have ot of town guests 234 Bistro is where we take them!!!!!!!!!

Bistro 234 was the site of a reunion of sorts for old college friends. The Bistro is surprisingly well decorated and the experience just builds from the moment you enter. The staff is attentive, friendly, and helpful in making your dining experience a memory that you can savor almost as much as your meal. The entire menu sounds delicious and the variety is truly astounding. It is the type of menu that I might expect to find in a pricey restaurant in San Francisco or New York but this is the Central Valley of California. You are able to select appetizers, salads, pasta, fish, steak, lamb, chicken, or vegetarian. Items were available with choices such as bordelaise, gorgonzola, or peppercorn sauces. The meal itself was wonderful. The food was savory and the presentation fantastic. You'll appreciate the fact that prices are in line with the central valley locale. My compliments to the creative owners and staff who believe that dining can, and should be, a truly gastronomical experience. I can't wait to return for another sampling of heaven. I found this this restaurant on line.I was looking for a nice quiet place for my 14Th anniversary.That is I what I found.Te food was great.The serivce was good,I can not wait to go back again.

The food at the Bistro is wonderful. I've always had an exceptional meal.

Their Chicken Marsala is out of this world. I can not eat it anywhere else because it is the best at Bistro.

MY HUSBAND AND I WENT TO THE BISTRO 234 ANTICIPATING GREAT FOOD AND SERVICE. THE FIRST PART OF OUR EXPERIENCE WENT FINE. WE WERE ENJOYING FRESH STEAMED CLAMS AND WONDERFUL HOUSE SALADS. THE WAITRESS WAS VERY HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY. FOR OUR MAIN DISHES WE ORDERED RACK OF LAMB FOR MY HUSBAND AND HALIBUT FOR MYSELF. MY DISH WAS SO SALTY THAT IT WAS HARD TO FINISH THE FIRST BITE. MY HUSBAND TRYED IT AND TOLD ME NOT TO EAT ANY MORE IT TASTED BAD. SO WE CALLED OVER OUR WAITRESS. SHE DID NOT SAY A WORD SHE JUST GRABBED MY PLATE AND PICKED UP A FORK. I THOUGHT OK SHE IS GOING TO TRY IT. WHEN SHE CAME BACK SHE SAID THE OWNER TRYED IT AND SAID IT WAS JUST FINE. THEY DID NOT OFFER ME A NEW PALTE OR A NEW CHOICE FOR MY DINNER. SHE JUST HANDED US THE BILL WITH THE HALIBUT STILL ON THE BILL. WE ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE OWNER AND SHE REFUSED TO TALK W/US. SHE WAS IN THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BAR DRINKING. I THINK THAT IF YOU ARE GOING TO OWN SUCH A BEAUTIFUL RESTAURANT IN SUCH A SMALL TOWN YOU SHOULD HAVE A SPIRIT TO SERVE. WE WILL NEVER RETURN TO THE BISTRO AND HOPE THAT IF YOU DO YOU HAVE A BETTER EXPERIENCE.
