Was trying to put truck back in operation. Had been parked 2 years because of lack of funds to repair.

I bought an engine from Turnersburg Salvage that was supposed to be a 5.7 ( 350 ci ) for $550.00. I was told that the engine had only 12,000 miles on it after being rebuilt. We installed the engine (supposedly 350) and I drove the truck approx. 1000 miles at which time the transmission went out . I expected this because the transmission had 295,000 miles on it. I went back to Turnersburg Salvage and bought a transmission for $250.00 and installed it.

Upon test driving the truck,I heard a knocking noise and noticed that the transmission didn't shift correctly,so I called Shawn at Turnersburg Salvage and told him the transmission was not shifting correctly and there was a knocking noise that I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Shawn told me to bring the truck to Turnersburg Salvage shop and they would see if they could figure it out. I did. I left the truck with them over night so they could start it from a cold start.

Here is Shawns diagnostic report.Quote! " There is good news and there's bad news. The good news is there is nothing wrong with the transmission. The bad news is the engine has a bad wrist pin."

I questioned Shawn as to why an engine with only 12,000 miles on it would have a wrist pin knocking. Quote!" It could be a number of things like people not changing the oil, ect." When I asked him what we was going to do about it , seeing that I had only driven the engine approx. 1000 miles? His reply.

Quote " That is a 305 engine,it is plainly stamped on the block." So the way I see it,Shawn was calling me a lier by saying that was not the engine Turnersburg Salvage sold me

So Turnersburg Salvage sold me a 305 ci. engine and wrote on the bill of sell it was a 350ci. 800.00 plus tax of $56.00 = $ 856.00 with Turnersburg Salvage and I am still without a truck to drive.
