Provided by YPmobileI wish there was a negative star option for these scum bags. I had to get my car towed there for what I was 100% sure was a dead battery. My car sat there 2 hours before they got to it and said "the battery is fine" and that I need to replace my starter. They ring that up to be $500!! The part for my car was $90?! Obviously I said don't touch my car and I went to autozone to test my starter which they said was perfect then they checked my battery (which was bulging) and said it was as dead as it could possibly be. So thank you pep boys for your incredible expertise and trying to over charge me quadruple. SCUM.

Provided by YPmobileThis PepBoys is horrible! I called wanting my pinion seal changed. They said it'd be no problem and to bring it by. I arrive 10 minutes later & am told it will be 45 minutes for the technician who does those repairs. I return 45 minutes later...I am then told it will be an additonal 20 minutes. 1 hour later they take my Jeep back. ANOTHER hour goes by, I am told it will be over $1000 because something on the front of the vehicle has to be replaced. Also a wheel bearing "has" to be replaced and the tires "have" to be aligned. I requested 1 seal be replaced. 3 hours after my initial phone call I left PepBoys with nothing done and 1/2 a day wasted. While I was there I never saw anyone with a tool in their hand look at my vehicle...but I did see 3 people texting and 1 person eating chips while sitting around my vehicle. 2 people left angry while I was waiting because of the ridiculous wait time. Do not waste your time here.

Provided by YPmobileDue to the extremely poor roads I burst yet another tire but not just one this time... TWO! I was in close proximity to Pep Boys on Skyland. They made thing A-Ok within 30 mins. Tim and Courtney had the best customer service and they made sure I left there in a much better mood! Will definitely continue to do business with them!

Provided by YP.comI am a highly satisfied new customer. The Store Manager greeted me upon walking into the business. They did an oil change and installed new tires. I had an appointment for the services. I was in and out. I recommend this store to anyone that values quality service and competitive prices.

Provided by YPmobileI've been going to Pep Boys on Skyland Boulevard in Tuscaloosa, Alabama since the beginning of the year and have been thoroughly impressed. I use to frequent WalMart for my car issues but now my allegiance is with Pep Boys.Their friendly, fast service cannot be beat! I like the fact that the personnel- - especially Tim and Cortney, are so personable and knowledgeable! I will continue to come back for oil changes and any other car issues!! Thank you!! -- Desiree T.

Provided by YPmobileMy son had his jeep towed there and had his alternator and battery replaced. They were supposed to fix his tire and change his oil also. They charged $400 for a $200 alternator and $200 for a $150, & $115 labor PLUS &35 shop charge and $50 for the tow. When he picked it up they had "forgotten" the tire and oil change. So $800 for tow, battery, and alternator!! They are taking advantage of college kids!

Provided by YP.comThis review requires that I click a star - I'd give themero stars if I had the choice, though. We had a tire go bad on the highway over the July 4 weekend; pulled into this Big 10 on Skyline in Tuscaloosa, right off the I-59. The manager, Jerry, was solicitious and overly friendly.
After selecting a tire, I went to the window that looks out from the main store into the shop, and Jerry told me, jokingly, that he would have to charge me more for watching and stood waiting until I moved away from the window.
In a few minutes, he called us up to the counter to tell us, gravely, that the mechanic had seen oil all over the right CV boot and he was concerned about us going out on the road without changing out the whole CV axle.
He didn't know that I'd had some belts changed the day before and that the car had been up on the rack at my very competent mechanic's shop. We said we'd get it checked out later, and he once more urged us to reconsider, as we could be unsafe.
We confirmed this days later while getting some other work done - verdict: there is absolutely nothing wrong with the axle, no oil leaking, no torn boot, nothing. I'm glad I listened to my instincts; that manager had the personality of a television evangelist crossed with a carnival barker. Avoid this place, or stick just to buying tires.

Provided by YP.comWent in with a strange noise that was quickly diagnosed as a bad bearing in my alternator.
3 hours and $400 dollars they charged me and still made no difference in the noise.
They tried to make it about me. Wanted me to "accept" that it was an older car and that it is possible that MULTIPLE things had gone wrong all on the same day.
I'll take it to Barley GMC down the road.
at Barley's - They make you feel like family even if you do have out of state plates.
Avoid BIg 10 for any repairs.
I would not have gone there except it was Labor Day Weekend and I drive my car every day for work andit was the only day I had.
Take the time- use the dealer.
