Living experience here as well as customer service and maintenance is awful. If you want to be ripped off, this is definitely the place to be. At Bent Tree, my apartment was not clean before I moved in, washer machine wasn't working properly (which took them 2 months to finally get it fixed right) neither was the alarm system working that they make you pay $200 for regardless. I would never stay at another Sealy apartment ever!

Do not ever trust what Sealy has to say about anything. Rivermont apartments as well as other properties they own have consistently lied to me and my friends over their availability. We put down deposits and application fees because they ensured us that was space available. With multiple e-mails sent to them, they admitted that they did not have any apartments available and forced us to withdraw making us lose an additional $25 on our deposit. The company stated that they understand that finding an apartment is tough but their policies (which they'll tell you says they'll give you 2 months advance notice does not; it reads that they'll let you know up to a week ahead of time and that the only way to claim the full deposit back is by allowing your move in date to pass without them making an offer. If you qualified for the cheapest apartment but there are none but they have something available to you before your desired move in date, you'll lose the $25 due to turning down the offer. They also say they understand that the financial situation is tough but continue to be the only company to charge any (non-refundable) administration fees($50) on top of the $35 per applicant fee. STAY AWAY FROM SEALY AT ALL COSTS!

Rental experience started off great, onsite management is wonderful and they still are but, Sealy overall is just plain greedy. The property we are at is old and dated (although clean) however, just received notice that Sealy is going up $86.00 a month if we renew our lease. I specifically asked how much we could expect the apartment price to increase every year and was told no more than $15.00. After calling the onsite manager I was told that these apartments are in the best school district and in high demand so Sealy decided they would capitalize on this and raise the prices. I am sure they will take this extra money and update the units inside......NOT....it will all go into upper managements pocket!! This is just wrong!!

I rented from 5 realty companies in Tuscaloosa. Sealy was the worst. They did not care what my complaints were, performed minimal maintenance work, and charged me exorbitant fees for work not done. This company just sees its tenants as a number rather than a person. Sealy's policies, procedures, and practices are created to maximize profits through cutting costs associated with maintenance wile implementing extraneous fees and yearly rent increases. If you are looking for a place to rent in Tuscaloosa, stay away from this company. If the rent is cheap or they cut you a deal, they will get their money from you in other ways.
