Provided by YP.comWorst hospice in Tyler. Staff is unprofessional & does Not keep appointments. They will lie under false pretenses to have families sign up thier loved ones, then they don't take care of them. I would not let them care for my family. Or my dog

Provided by YP.comIf you really care about your loved one, stay away from this organization. My relative was put on hospice by another relative (certainly not my choice) approximately half a month ago. The picture painted of hospice was one of helping the patient have the best last days. I specifically told them I did not want my relative lying in bed sedated out of their mind. At the time, my relative was able to be up, conversing, and eating. That abruptly stopped because suddenly, the patient (by hospices all encompassing scale) was in such dire pain that the patient had to be heavily medicated. There were 2 doctors, one was very nice. There were 4 nurses, 1 was very nice. Our first nurse shouldn t even be in the nursing field. Hospice had assured us she was a wonderful nurse. You decide. For some reason, I was the only one incensed about the following incident. The nurse was holding a conversation with the patients caregiver. She told the caregiver, concerning a new medicine she was leaving, Here s a new toy for you. She also instructed the caregiver how to use morphine in an unconscious patient using a syringe. The patient was neither on nor needing morphine, but the nurse brought some to the house. The only thing hospice had to say about this was maybe it wasn t professional or it was a poor choice of words. Would you want a supposed compassionate nurse making these statements about you or your loved one? So ultimately, the patient, although being able to eat and speak prior to hospice, was deemed in horrible pain and has been medicated round the clock. The patients death is imminent. It would have been sooner had I not protested the use of so many drugs in the beginning. Essentially, my relative was starved to death while being over medicated all in the name of compassion and comfort. Just be very sure you know what you are getting your loved one into before signing up with this organization.
