Ramey Elementary School, established in 1950, was named after Judge Thomas B. Ramey, who was a lawyer and church and civic leader of Tyler. It has a staff of more than 60 full-time certified teachers and paraprofessionals that includes a social worker, behavior specialist, counselor, diagnostician, speech pathologist, reading coaches, special educators, library aides, classroom teachers, teaching assistants and custodians. Ramey Elementary School maintains a parent-teacher association that conducts monthly meetings and organizes various events and activities for the overall development of the school. The school has an annual enrollment of over 500 students in prekindergarten through fifth grade. Ramey Elementary School is a party of the Tyler Independent School District and is located in Tyler, Texas.
