Mendocino Brewing Company was established in 1983 in Hopland, Calif., as California s first brewpub. The company is a pioneer in the American brewing renaissance, with its main product being Red Tail Ale. Its products are available from nearly 100 distributors in more than 35 states and Canada. The company has its headquarters and a brewery in Ukiah, Calif., and facilities and breweries in Hopland and Petaluma, Calif.; and Saratoga Springs, N.Y. It brews most of its beer at its facility in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., to meet the demand on the East Coast. Quality control is strictly maintained on par with that of the brewery in Ukiah.
