The Mendocino County Youth Project, also known as MCYP, works with a mission to support the development of healthy youths. Established in 1974, it provides opportunities for children, adolescents, adults and their families to acquire independent decision-making skills and develop positive relationships. The project collaborates with Mendocino Family and Youth Services, which is a nonprofit organization. The Mendocino County Youth Project offers individual, family and group counseling through licensed therapists and interns. It administers a child abuse treatment program that includes professional therapy and support services for children and youths affected by neglect, domestic violence, physical and sexual abuse. The project also provides various crisis intervention and transitional living programs. The Mendocino County Youth Project maintains its main office in Ukiah, Calif.
