The New Haven Unified School District serves more than 13,000 students in over 10 educational facilities. Established in 1965, the district offers curriculum in reading, writing, history, mathematics, science, visual and performing arts, physical education and health. It also offers courses in Spanish, German, French, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Latin and Vietnamese. Additionally, the district provides a range of special education programs for more than 1,200 students with exceptional needs.
