The doctor is terrible and was not friendly. The staff explain more then the doctor did. They are not low budget. I would not recommend them.

Love Dr. Patrick

I have been taking my dogs to Dr. Patrick since I've had them. My first dog was born without a tail. He would get infections around the area that the tail was suppose to be. Dr. Patrick would care for him in such a compassionate manner. He was getting what we thought were colds, flu and pneumonia until x-rays were taken and was diagnosed with cancer and was not treatable. I had to put him down. Dr. Patrick was so compassionate and consoling. I got a new dog soon after and Dr. Patrick is soooo good with him. His new clinic is really modern, clean and his staff is very friendly welcoming Dr. Patrick listens to your concerns, asks questions and explains things in an understandable way. If you're looking for a vet that is attentive and caring, see Dr. Patrick.

BEWARE OF THIS PLACE !!!

Dr. UMEKEJE TURNED MY CAT AWAY AFTER HE TOOK MY $40 VISIT FEE. I WAS TOLD MY CAT HAD STONES IN HIS BLADDER. I EXPLAINED THAT HIS FEE WAS TOO HIGH AND THAT I DIDN'T GET PAID TILL THE FOLLOWING WEEK, BUT ASKED CAN HE STILL HELP MY CAT WITH SOMETHING TILL THEN SO HE WOULD NOT SUFFER OR GET WORSE, HE REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING, MY 1&1/2 OLD CAT NAMED MIDNIGHT DIED THE NEXT MORNING...IN BLAME THIS FACILITY, THEY DON'T BELIEVE IN SAVING ANIMALS LIVES THEY JUST WANT A BIG BANK ACCOUNT. I PRAY ALL OF YOU GO OUT OF BUSINESS SOON, AND I HOPE DR.UMEKEJE, YOU LOSE YOUR LICENSE, YOU DO NOT HAVE COMPASSION OR ANY CONCERN FOR OUR ANIMAL WELL BEING, AND I DON'T BELIEVE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING !!! A Waste of Time!

This place does not even get 1 star. I took my dog in bc he had an ear infection but all the treatment i received for my dog was incompetance and time wasted. I was first welcomed with attitude from a tech when i enter bc she said i didnt have appointment. I told her the huge sign outside says walk ins welcome. Then i waited for over an hour to be seen when there were no other ppl in waiting area. I was taken into a room with my dog left there for another 30 minutes and walked out. I was followed to my car saying the vet was coming. Vet came into the room gave me an xtra small musle for my boston terrier telling me I needed to put it on. It did not fit. He said i will need to sedate ur dog. I said for an ear infection ur nuts and walked out! If u love ur pet dont go here please! Best vet is Dr.Santiago in East Orange. He located in not the best neighborhood but great vet with reasonable prices and worth the trip!

The first visit was free but it still cost us $200 for Meds and the diagnostics of a cold. Anything but a budget although the place is proper and the Vet was kind . New to the Pet world so not use to paying more for a Docs visit than I pay to see my own. Beware the cost of the visit is not the only thing you will have to pay. Will not return.

Though the vet and vet tech were nice it was not worth the money! Took my two dogs there and was waiting in the hot office, 8 months pregnant, for 2 hours and by time our dogs were finished it over 3 hours total. Went in for some skin issues and paid about $600 for both dogs and we could have paid this at a high end vets office as well in a 20 minute visit. Wish we would of had a better experience since the place is friendly and clean but the customer service was very poor. Knowing how long we were there, pregnant, and waiting with only one other patient in the building it was too long and too much money. Wont be going back!

CARING AND COMPASSIONATE

I brought in a cat that had been hit by a car. The cat was extremely injured and the staff and vet were very gentle. She had to be put down because she was bleeding internally but their compassion was awesome. As she was injected, the tech held her and gently stroked her until she passed. Today I received a beautiful condolence card. These people care about animals. I'm so glad for their extended hours and that their open on weekends. My regular vet was closed but Pets on a Budget was open and it was a Sunday.

Incompetent Vet

I brought my two cats here for routine physicals and vaccinations. They were very briefly examined and Dr. Umeukeje didn't comment on any physical findings or their presumed state of health. He didn't even mention the fact that one cat is morbidly obese, other than mentioning that he had a big head. I also asked for a calming agent for the cats as I had an appointment to have them groomed. The vet said he didn't know what to prescribe and that dosing is difficult for large cats. He suggested that I call the groomer to see what medication they would suggest. I was completely blown away by his incompetence. If this veterinarian does not know basic pharmacology or is unable to calculate correct dosages for an animals weight, he has absolutely no business being in practice.

Honest and caring

I took my dog and cat to this new practice. I saw Dr Umeukeje Patrick I called him Dr Patrick. He was so kind and warm and hospital is so clean. I brought my dog in on my first visit for vaccines and a breathing problem. I took him to other vets and was over charged and they gave me tons of medicine that never helped the breathing.

My last vet didn't have a digital xray and blood testing. We took an xray and he saw something obstructing his breathing. All this time these crappy vets with crappy equipment missed that he had swallowed something. The the dr removed it and was very caring and when I think of all the money I spent with other vets and no one found this!

I am happy to say my sweet Riley had the hair tie removed and he is great! I brought Sasha my cat back and we took blood and she has a clean bill of health and I will not go back to hospitals that aren't capable of diagnosing a problem with poor quality equipment. I am glad they are in my neighborhood. Very fair and honest I am relieved to go there.

This is a terrible clinic. I took my dog for one simple skin not big deal problem and the Indian Doctor gave me a list of problems with my dog with a bill of $400.00. I am the 3rd generation of dog training. I am very aware and educated about dog treatment and diseases etc. I of course didn’t pay this bill. My friend also took his dog to this clinic to get prescription for heartworm and the bill was $387.00 without the heartworm. This Indian doctor does anything he can to suck money out of you. In addition, his diagnostic is always wrong. When I took my dog, the clinic was empty. There was no patients. The total of hours I spent there was 3 hours. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG OR CAT THERE. You will spend a lot of money for nothing and the diagnostic will be wrong.
