Provided by YP.comI drove 8 miles to this location on perfectly sound tires, passing several oil change locations along the way. Upon leaving, they told me I would be lucky to get across the street because of a valve stem was broke. Believing them to be honest, I drove across the street to a Goodyear that was closing and had to drive without air in my tire three blocks to the next tire location in a brand new Toyota Tundra. Once they showed me the piece that was broken I was shocked. The piece didn't just "malfunction" like they had said, it had clearly been broken. After the spare tire was placed on my truck because the digital valve stem had to come from Toyota, I drove back to the Express Lube. They called Toyota to get the price for the part and told me they would have it fixed the next day plus free oil changes so that I would trust their store again. The next day, Rudy Gonzales called and said that it was already broken before I had gotten there. First, how could I drive 8 miles to get there with no air loss and then not be able to drive across the street upon leaving? Second, why would I have gone that far to get my oil changed when there is an oil change within a mile of my house? Third, if I have a problem with my tire, I go to a tire place...I do not go to an oil change where I could possibly be stuck with a flat tire and my 4 year old son in the 98 degree Texas weather. And, finally, I would NEVER endanger my son by driving that far on a tire that could blow out at any time. After being told that they would do the right thing and fix the valve they had broken, I was lied to and made to feel as if I was the one who broke it. This was the absolute worst customer service experience at any service location in addition to the additional $200 cost of labor and material to fix what they had broken.
It is correct that there was a problem with the valve stem. We have a camera system in the store and it showed the process of the technician checking the tire very clearly. I can not see how checking a tire that has a metal valve stem could result in breaking it unless it already had a crack, maybe not leaking air. The last statement about having to pay $200.00 is incorrect. Express Lube bought the part at Toyota and reimbursed the customer the labor the dealer charged for installation.
