Our neighbor came to us with a request to remove the hedge separating our properties and replace it with a block dividing wall. We gave our okay and they contracted J.H. Builders to do the work.
Instead of removing the bushes in the usual manner (i.e., cutting them off then either grinding down the stumps or removing them with axe and shovel), they chose to drive a truck onto my lawn and yank the bushes out with a chain. As you might imagine, this caused a lot of damage to the lawn and the underlying sprinkler system. When we complained, they assured us they would repair the damage. However, their so-called repairs were less than adequate (sprinkler heads at the wrong heights, leaks, etc.).
As for the wall itself, the mortar joints are not neat and cleanly done. There are several joints where there is excessive mortar which was allowed to dry giving the wall an unprofessional appearance.
They are not professional. They damaged my property. They did not communicate what they were planning to do. The damages they caused were not repaired properly and I had to have them fixed at my own expense.
My advice: Stay away from J.H. Builders
