Provided by YP.comThis company did work for us and they are an excellent company to work with. Our home is a fairly new (under 15 yrs old) home and has 6" outside walls. They added extra insulation to our attic and also foamed our crawl space. Our heating and cooling expenses have been lowered due to the work they completed. This is a family-owned company and has been around throughout the years. Their workers were courteous and left the job site clean of any debris. This is an excellent company to work with! Also, they have a carpet cleaning business (Hometown Carpet Cleaning) so when the weather breaks we will know who to call for that "Not-so-fun" job.

Provided by YP.comThe owners brother came to our house and we spoke for an hour explaining in detail what we wanted in a room we were renovating. We came home after the insulation was put in and nothing we had discussed was done. They put spray cellulose when we requested spray foam. We spoke to the owner about this and he stated that our wishes had never been relayed. You would think a company that wants your business would listen to what their customers wanted instead of doing whatever they wanted. It was openly our fault because the contract was never written correctly in the first place.

Provided by YP.comExcellent, family-run business. I called on Monday afternoon about adding insulation and the job was *completed* within 48 hours. The estimator (company co-owner) recommended reasonable solutions and did not try to "sell" me on things I didn't need. The installers were very courteous, showed up early, cleaned up well, and even put my stuff they had to move right back where they found it. I wish I called them years ago. Very pleased with this job and company.

There used to be a time (last winter, also the first winter in the house) when I couldn't go downstairs without long sleeves, a sweater, the heat set to 70-72, the fireplace going, a blanket and a space heater all at the same time, and it was still cold. Illini Home Improvements came in and gave an estimate assuring us that we would be able to use the downstairs and keep the heat from escaping throughout the house with their insulation. I didn't believe them but would agree to try just about anything to improve form last year. I had never been in a house that was so cold in my life. Well, almost 2 months later I'm proud to say that I can go downstairs with short sleeves and no space heater, no sweater, no blanket and no fireplace. I still like the heat on 70 but it could probably go down to 68-69. Before they left on the date of installation, they asked if I would write a review and I thought to myself...you probably wouldn't like my review because I'm cold right now. At that time, I still didn't believe that I would feel any improvements. Tonight I am here to testify that Illini Home Improvements actually makes Home Improvements! I am warm and comfortable this second winter.

This is a follow-up to a previous review posted earlier this year by me. (Unfortunately Dex Knows will not let you delete a review, even if the problem is resolved.)Illini Home Improvements has fixed ALL of our issues, and we are very pleased with the result. I was initially frustrated (we all know how it can feel when you first see issues with work), but Illini really stepped up, admitted their issues, and came out and fixed everything. The owner oversaw the work personally. That impressed me, and it is rare to see in a contractor. I will use them again, because I know that they will fix any issues that occur. I strongly recommend them. Our house no longer has any condensation issues, and the floor is considerably warmer this year than last. It was good work, and it resulted in a more comfortable house.

Kevin, the owner, sold us a weatherproofing for our crawlspace. He said that the crew would lay plastic down on the ground, run it up the walls and footers, and tape it everywhere, then spray on insulation over it on the walls. That was for $3000. They took 2 hours, did not run the plastic up any of the walls, used not a single piece of tape, left large gaps in many areas, and did not insulate one of the walls. I paid a lot of money for an amateur job that I could have done myself. Buyer beware, I guess. If you deal with them, have them write down what they claim they will do and sign it, or you may spend quite a bit of money for an amateur job.

I am very happy with the job Illini Home Improvements done for me before winter. It has tremendously lowered my heating bills, much to my disbelief! I can not wait to see the results in the summer time as our house temperature stays hot! Thank you for a great job well done.
