After moving to Shelby Twp., we very were pleased to find a family owned, local business to shop at for our animals’ needs. Despite mixed reviews found online, we gave the shop a try, hoping to be pleasantly surprised. However, after being underwhelmed by their selections we weren’t convinced to remain customers.

During our last visit, shortly after losing our cat, my son and husband fell in love with some Siamese/Himalayan kittens at Kee’s. We were assured the kittens had been seen by a vet 2-3 days before we adopted and received the ppwk as evidence. Unfortunately we brought home the fuzzball and discovered a body full of fleas (36 hatched adults, numerous eggs, TONS of flea poop), gunky ears, and very dirty fur. After multiple baths, fleas treatments, and two weeks of medications for his ears, he’s now thankfully a healthy cat!

We called Kee’s the morning after bringing our kitten home to let them know about the issues we found. The woman who answered the phone told me their store was flea free and had no idea how

Currently they have a baby sulcata tortoise with shell deformities already, not fed properly and already starting to get unhealthy, and they are asking 200$ for it which is outrageous considering i bought mine for 90 dollars. I do know what im talking about when it comes to tortoises as well, i own 5 adult sulcatas. 2 of which are rescues. I feel bad for the little guy they have there.

price wise? outrageous as well, definitely make this a last resort pet place.

also i can vouch about the daughter being rude, i have been going there for 13 years (because its a block from my house and i need feeder fish) and every time i see her, she is rude as can be. Never once a smile, not even a hello.

They bought some fish from me. I told the owner I was getting rid of my fish tank. He gave me an $18.00 credit. When I went in to use it the rude woman at the counter tells me I can only use on fish. I talked to the owner and he said to bad so sad. They have religious music playing, but they are far from acting like a Christian. Just an awful place to shop.

GEORGIOUS 1000 gallon Saltwater/Coral Show-Tank' that is worth-the-trip just to see... and the newly remodeled fish-room' is pretty cool :)

- Small & medium size Birds

- Assorted small furry animals

- Usually have Kittens (so cute!)

- Usually have "exotics" like Sugar Gliders, Ferrets, Chinchillas, etc.

- All the supplies needed for all animals



They have a large selection of everything* including live & dry goods'... but IF you don't see the particular animal or supplies you want... just ask' them.

*they don't sell Dogs, but DO sell all the supplies needed for them



THERE IS A REASON KEE'S HAS BEEN AROUND FOR NEARLY 30 YEARS... it's an awesome store !!

While nearly all other family-owned pet stores have gone out of business... KEE'S CONTINUES TO GET BIGGER & BETTER :)



PLEASE understand owning, operating, and properly maintaining a large retail pet store is a MASSIVE job'... "a little patience goes a long way"

Dave & Debbie Kee, along with the their staff are truly VERY nice & friendly people. If YOU don't have a little patience, and you DO have a little attitude'... you're just asking for it'

The young kids are great, the owners Daughter is the rudest person I ever met. I was buying 300.00 of products during a snowstorm, holding my baby, With my 5 and 3 year old when my 3 year old needed to pee. Its not easy taking 2 kids and a baby shopping by yourself. The lady told me, go out the front door, and down a ways is a Subway. This mind you, is when I had 300 cash in my hand for her. They have a bathroom u can use. I WILL NEVER GIVE THEM ANOTHER DOLLAR AND I HOPE YOU DONT EITHER

Poor selection for cichlids. Way over priced for fish. I don't see how this place stays in business

Bought a tank from here and it emptied itself out last night. Thank god my fish survived! I called Kees today and was told by a rude kid sorry nothing we can do call back after 1pmu tmmrw and ask for Dave. In the meanwhile ill just watch my fish die thanks!... unbelievable!!

Prices are reasonable. They get a new shipment of fish every Wednesday and have a great selection of fresh and salt water. Store features a huge 1000 gallon show tank. Staff is very knowledgeable. We usually deal with Nicki or Jason. The store is packed and very busy. I highly recommended this store for your saltwater needs.

Greeting with words and smile would have gone a long way for this former customer. Never received such cold treatment, week after week from a business who your giving your money to. Though it's close to home I'll go the extra mile's to Petsmart.

This is the best place to go if you are starting up salt water tank. Staff was very knowledgable and extremely patient and helpful. Tanks are clean and well stocked. You can tell they want to earn your business and they do!

I would highly recommend this store to anyone who currently has, or is planning on starting a tank up! The entire staff was friendly and helpful. It was also a good feeling to know that we were supporting our local community verses a big chain store. Prices were right too. I don’t live right around but will return for all of my pet’s needs, not just the ones with gills!
