ECR International designs, manufactures and markets HVAC equipment for residential, commercial, institutional and hospitality markets. The company distributes boilers, baseboard water heaters, hydronic system controls, furnaces, ductless air-conditioning systems, fan coils and package terminal air conditioners under 10 brand names. ECR operates manufacturing facilities in Utica, Rome and Dunkirk, N.Y.; Berlin, Conn.; and Wallaceburg, Ontario. ECR International was formed in June 1999 with the merger of The Utica Companies and Dunkirk Radiator Corporation. Earle C. Reed founded both Dunkirk and Utica in 1928, and the company is named in his honor. In 2000, ECR International acquired certain assets of Olsen Technology in Wallaceburg and in 2001 acquired Argo Industries of Berlin.
