The shop I bought my wedding dress from wanted to charge me almost as much as the dress for alterations. Out of desperation, I took my dress and looked for a place for the needed alterations. I brought my wedding dress to Louise with only 2 weeks before my wedding!! It needed a lot of work done as I am petite and the dress was very detailed. For starters it needed to be hemmed, however since there was a lot of intricate detail on the bottom it could not be hemmed from the bottom but the dress needed to be taken apart at the bodice and then reassembled. It also needed a bustle and the sleeves taken in-which included taking apart the sleeves, removing tiny beads and then resetting the sleeve and beads in the same pattern. All of this in 2 weeks! After meeting Louise, I felt completely confident my dress was in amazing hands. I had 2 fittings and picked up my dress the day before my wedding. It was absolutely beautiful. I could not have been more pleased. Not only does she do beautiful work, she is an absolute pleasure to work with.

I started taking my alterations to Louise a couple of years ago and have been extremely happy with all of her work!! She is where I always go. She is friendly, easy to work with and does exactly what you want. I have a lot of confidence in her expertise and she knows what solution will work best with each piece of clothing when fitting it to your body. She also takes sewing requests for non clothing items.

I was searching for someone truly skilled - with only three weeks to spare - to make alterations on my twin sister's wedding dress, a beautifully beaded, satin and lace vintage dress which was a family heirloom and air locked for over thirty years, and the second I spoke with Louise on the phone, I knew she was the one with the gift to bring my sister's vision to fruition. There was a lace overlay on the bodice which was just a little too much for the bride's petite frame, and Louise crafted a more modern, minimal version across the chest, so delicately attending to the detail. We were told alterations would be difficult and expensive and when Louise looked at the photos I sent her, she promptly called me back to let me know she thought it could be done. She genuinely reformed the most important element to Rachael's day with the care and professional attentiveness you hope for during the stress of planning a wedding.

My sister originally purchased a dress on a whim from David's Bridal, and they made her promises on alterations that they were unable to keep with a gown which was too large, then they told her it was final sale and could not be returned when she attempted to (though this was never said or merely alluded to either her or her fiance at checkout). I only will speak on our experience, as I'm sure many brides have had great business with the company, but they had no compassion for her financial burdens as a part-time student working a full-time job, and they treated her like a problem. Louise CARES about your story, your vision, and she hopes however she can help makes a difference. It made all the difference in the world for us.

As a side note, since she does everything from cushions to wedding dresses, we will never take anything we need stitched, hemmed or created to anyone but the extraordinary angel on Earth, Louise.

Louise is an expert at her craft. She takes into consideration the structure of a garment to be altered and will create a plan to meet the goal during your appointment. In my world, a hem is just 'fold and stitch', but Louise pays attention to details like keeping the curvy shape of a pencil skirt even though I've asked to chop off about 6 inches of hem. In addition, her hem work with stretch fabric is impeccable - not a hint of pucker. Beautiful! She reserves a parking space for clients literally at the doorstep.

Louise has done alterations for my family for many years. She has altered clothing for my son-in-law as well has altered a wedding gown for my granddaughter. She was able to duplicate a dress I loved to make 8 new dresses for my beach vacation that fit perfectly. I highly recommend her for her any alteration or custom made clothing. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
