Today was the day I taught my 12-year-old daughter how to shoot my handgun. She was nervous, and, honestly, so was I. I’ve been to other ranges where the staff and other customers were not happy with women being in the range. I did not want my daughter’s first experience to be met with sexism. The gentleman who assisted us was wonderful. He was very supportive of her learning to handle my weapon and very complimentary on her quick progress. I have definitely found my range and we will be returning. We had a blast.

Crowded

As a member, I shoot here about 2-3 times a month. 2nd year member. Staff is friendly usually. Very crowded during peak hours. Members need to wait in line with everyone else.

I'm changing my review from 1 star to 4 stars. Long story short I bought a PX4 that was to come with a holster. The holster was missing so they ordered one, with some miscommunication between employees it did take couple of months to get the holster witch was a bit frustrating. In the long run I ended up with a very nice custom holster witch was a bit more then I excepted. These guys did make some mistakes but they owned up to them and made things right in the end. Lets face it we all make mistakes that's the price to pay for being human. I would have gave them 5 stars but they will have earn that on my next purchase ;) Thanks again Rolland and Allen

I was so nervous at first going into a gun store since I am a girl and always felt like guns stores are just for guys but needless to say I am so happy I found On Target Gun Store! I heard about them on the radio and just went in and immediately a staff member greeted me and I told him what I was looking for. In less than an hour not only did they help me find the gun I was looking for they also taught me how to clean it, use it, etc.. I was very impressed with the service and I have told all my other girlfriends about On Target! I can't wait to take some of the ladies only classes that they offer.

Cool range! I am a competitive tactical shooter and have been trying to check out all the local ranges in the area because I am new in town and looking to join a range that will accomidate to the type of shooting I enjoy. On Target was by far the coolest range I have visited yet in this 100 degree Missouri weather. When I walked in to the store, I wasn't sure on what to expect due to a bad experience at another local store, and was immediately welcomed like I was already a member. My salesman (Scott) showed me some cool new items that they have out for AR-15s and then came in to the range to let me try it out on his personal gun. I am sold on the slidefire stocks BTW! I think I have found my new range... Regular, down to earth, people.

Staff member slow to greet, I ...

Staff member slow to greet, I asked about a Kahr PM45, and was told in a condescending manner that "not many will pay that kind of money for a handgun, so we don't stock them". He indicated that he "could order one", and I asked for his price. He responded that he didn't have time to look it up, "so let's call it a grand". Then added, "OK, give me a minute and I'll get the computer on", while complaining that he should have more help (I was the only customer at counter, one other person was standing by the door waiting for someone else to leave the range) but they were "in the back playing around". Finally looked on his computer and quoted me a price $110 higher than two other local dealers. I laughed, thanked him and left. You should not waste your time here: not friendly, not knowledgeable, and not competitive on pricing at all. I will never buy here.

Good people

It was my first time in 'On Target' today, good selection, good prices and good people there.

I went in to trade/sell a couple of old handguns and buy a new one, the salesman there was very helpful, gave me a very fair price on the two guns I brought in and had what I was looking for in a compact, concealable pistol and threw in a couple of boxes of shells and a small (yes, not too expensive, but it's the thought that counts) holster as well.

Great store with very friendly people.

Newbie to civilian guns

I have spent quite a bit of time in the army and for the first time I bought my own handgun. I had been shopping online for quite sometime researching what I wanted. When I went into On target they new a lot and were able to steer me in the right direction. I ended buying a taurus millenium. Great gun, and a great price for this vet! They respected my service and made me feel at home by walking me through the process because I had no idea how or what to do. I will definitely be going back.

A great experience, CAN'T WAIT FOR THE RANGE!

A friend refered me to this store, I'm glad he did.

iI've got a few rifles & an old revolver but wanted something more updated.

I spoke with their salesman Dan who was extremely knowledgeable . I ended up buying an STI 45, it's a nice gun.

I was very impressed when Dan showed me how to take it apart, clean it & put it back together, he even gave me a free box of rounds with it.

I've been to a few gun stores lately, this place really spends time with their customers, something that's hard to find anymore.

I'll be back

Honest

I am inexperienced with guns and wanted to trade in a rifle for a handgun. I didn't really know what I wanted and the guy there steered me towards the Glock. Usually I do my research before I purchase anything of value, but I went into this blind (after I bought the gun I did the research and found that he was spot on with his recommendation).

My 270 rifle had a nice scope on it (dated but still very good) but it had some water damage on the stock. I did research the price of my rifle and with the scope (in better condition), it would have gone for about $700. He said that he was going to sell it for $500 (because of the water damage) and would give me $250 towards the price of the Glock adding that he would throw in a couple of boxes of shells. It seemed fair to me (bearing in mind I have no idea if it was really fair), so I bought it. I had to wait a few days for the waiting period to end and was a little concerned they wouldn't honer/remember the couple of boxes of shells, but they did and I was very happy with the experience. He also said to me a couple of times that anytime I needed any assistance with cleaning my gun or any other issues that I should call him and he would take care of me.

The only reason I don't rate this establishment higher is because the people that work there (and this may be a gun store thing) don't have the best social skills and I felt uncomfortable the whole time. Is there a gun store that makes newbies feel welcome? Anyway- honest folks, fair deal, minimal hand holding.
