Located in North Hollywood, Calif., and founded in 1951, Colfax Avenue Elementary School is affiliated to the Los Angeles Unified School District. The school offers a variety of academic and cocurricular programs to more than 500 students in grades kindergarten through five. It enrolls students from diverse ethnic, social and economic groups, and its cafeteria offers a variety of food items for breakfast and lunch. Colfax Avenue Elementary School offers various programs and classes such as social studies, music, art, computers, language arts, physical education, science, English and mathematics. The school also offers reading is fundamental, writing, speech, library, technology, enrichment and drama workshop programs.
