I wouldn't recommend this company. We gave them a deposit, called a few day later to change the scope of work and they charged us $250 for "engineering work". They did nothing to earn this and refused to refund it.

: We are sorry to hear that Mr. & Mrs. Afloarei are unhappy. Salco Screens take pride in our service and reputation. On 8/23/16, Mrs. Mariana Afloarei contacted Salco Screens to provide an estimate for a screen room at her residence. On 8/25/16, we met with Mrs. Afloarei, provided the estimate and at that time Mrs. Afloarei decided to sign a contract (which is a legal binding contract), move forward with the project and paid a 25% deposit of $1,342 dated 8/25/16. It was explained to Mrs. Afloarei that we would be moving forward with the engineering and permitting process to faster expedite her project. On 8/30/16, we received an email from Mrs. Afloarei requesting that we put a hold on her project due to a conversation she had with her husband. We replied back via email on 8/30/16 stating that we already started working on her project and have incurred engineering expenses. On 8/31/16, we received another email from Mrs. Afloarei requesting to cancel her entire project. On 9/1/16, Salco Screens emailed back stating that we would be happy to refund her deposit less $250 for engineering expenses that were already incurred as well as release them from their legal contract for this project. On 09/13/2016, we sent her refund check via certified mailed for the amount of $1,092 and thought this was a fair and reasonable solution and that all parties were satisfied with this outcome. Approximately 30 days later on 10/12/16 we received an email from Michael and Mariana Afloarei stating that they felt they received an incomplete refund. We also would like to point out that this is the first time Mr. Afloarei engaged in any kind of communication with Salco Screens. So we again explained our reasoning why they received the deposit amount less the $250 for the expenses Salco Screens paid out for the engineering. We never had the privilege of meeting with Micheal Afloarei and all of our business dealings were with Mrs. Afloarei. It is important to know that the scope of work never changed, (1) day the project is on, (5) days later its a hold, (2) days later cancelled. We will be happy to provide receipts, emails and a time log of hours spent on this project. We find it very difficult for our company to absorb the $250 spent on the Afloarei's engineering because the Afloarei's decided to cancel their project. We did not, and will not charge the Afloareis' any additional fees for cancelling the project. Please see below for specific wording on Salco Screens contract which was signed by Mrs. Afloarei. DEFAULT: In the event the owner shall fail to make any payment when the same is due, or any part thereof, or fail to perform fully and promptly any covenant or agreement herein set forth, they will pay to SALCO SCREENS, it successors or assigns, all costs and expense the said SALCO SCREENS, or its successors or assigns may thereby be put to, including a reasonable attorney fee. If the owners shall become bankrupt or be put into receivership, or fail to make any payment when due, or fail to perform any covenant herein contained, all sums then unpaid shall become due and payable upon written notice thereof by SALCO SCREENS, its successors or assigns. THIS AGREEMENT shall be binding upon the heirs, administrators, executors, successors and assigns of the owners.
