In response to the other review service writers make their money on how much extra work "needs" done on your vehicle. Like you that would happen to me also but I usually held them at bay. I went there for years. Work used to be great. My kids vehicles went there also. Then it started. I couldn't leave without a minimum 700.00 bill. I continued to give them benefit of doubt. Then Steve's promise of The car being ready by a certain time changed. Not just time of day but actual day or days. Still One more time I took my work van in. Ran great but when putting into gear the motor died plus needed a New tail light socket wired in. They ran a new wire saying how hard it was. They could have spliced into existing power supply from other light instead of running wire from engine bay to rear. 700.00 bucks again and still died when putting into gear. Their solution was to unplug a sensor so it couldn't read anything and it ran fine. So real problems still existed. I took it home cause was tired of waiting and ever present 700 bucks. Had the van a few weeks and started it and smoke pours out of where the dimmer control for interior lights is located. At that point I had finally had it. Had it towed to another mechanic who after awhile called me and asked if new wiring had been done lately. I purposely didn't tell him of new wiring to tail light. He said it looked like a hack job of wires cut. The new wire was fried, melted other wires in the harness. To repair wasn't even worth it to me. Unless someone wants to pay a few bucks it's off to the junk yard. It's an 89 GMC Safari, ladder racks, newer sport rims,Toyo tires,3500.00 new tranny. I don't have the time to part it out. As far as Steve I really like the guy. No issues with him at all. Just the way quality declined in the shop. Van is at DJ automotive corner of 63rd and St.James in Vancouver.

I took my truck into Matts on ...

I took my truck into Matts on Friday morning the 22nd. of July 2011 for front brakes.. I was soon called by Steve and told that I needed new rotors, calipers and pads and that it was going to cost several hundred dollars more than they had quoted me. I said I couldn't afford it at the time and picked up my truck. I took it straight to another REPUTABLE shop here in town. They did the total brake job, no new parts except the pads and gave me a 3 year warranty on all parts and labor. The rotors nor the calipers were worn out like they told me at Matts. Never do business with these guys. I only gave one star because it won't let me give a negative number.

Customer Service Saavy

We found Matt's through a friend, after we experienced less than suitable customer service at another foreign auto repair place in Vancouver. I was frustrated, as I needed a Mercedez certified shop to work on my car, and there was only one in Vancouver that I knew of. From the moment I walked in, customer service has been top notch. They never try to talk you into a service that is not necessary and they have been wonderful when it comes to working with the warranty company. I recommend to try them out at least once, and I am sure you will find you do not want to go anywhere else for your auto service needs. Great experience!!!

Very resonable prices and excellent service.

I took my 2001 VW Passat to Matt's Alignment & Auto Repair for the Check Engine light was on. I had a 9AM appointment. By 11am I had a phone call with a estimate of what my car needed. The service was fast & friendly and Steve the service manager explained everything so well that I really understood what my car needed. I highly recommend Matt's Auto Repair.

Blind folded mechanics

Do not go here if you value your vehicle. Because of their shoddy work I had to have a new master cylinder, water pump, alternator and ANOTHER radiator on my 2000 Jeep Wrangler. All this had to be done after Matt's installed new radiator for me. We were traveling in CA and all the bells and whistles went off in the Jeep. This is ridiculous because I keep my vehicles in top condition. I honestly feel that Matt's does not care one bit about their customers or their safety. DO NOT take anything you care about to them. They also do not stand behind their work. The guarantee is not really valid. This error on Matt's part cost me a lot of heartache, stress and money.
